St Clair’s Falls

St Clair's Falls, one of Sri Lanka’s widest waterfalls, is a breathtaking sight in the central highlands, often called the “Little Niagara of Sri Lanka.
St Clairs Falls in Sri Lanka is one of the most famous waterfalls in the central highlands, located in the Nuwara Eliya District near Talawakelle. Known as the “Little Niagara of Sri Lanka”, this impressive waterfall is actually made up of two falls: the Main Falls (80 meters high, 50 meters wide) and the Kuda Falls (or Small Falls).

Set against the backdrop of lush tea plantations, St. Clair’s Falls is one of the widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka and can be easily spotted from the Hatton–Talawakelle road. The view is particularly spectacular during the rainy season, when the water flow is at its peak.

Visitors often combine a stop at St. Clair’s with nearby attractions such as Devon Falls, Tea Estates, and Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya. It is one of the best photography spots in the highlands and a favorite for travelers on the Kandy–Nuwara Eliya route.
